Privacy policy

This policy explains what information we collect on this website, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It covers patient enquiries, staff accounts, and optional analytics.

Who we are

Global Prosthetics and Orthotics Nig Ltd (“we”, “us”) is a prosthetic and orthotic clinic and workshop in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria. We fit custom limbs, run sponsored and subsidised programmes with partners including Arise and Walk Christian Ministry, and supply components to other clinics.

For privacy questions, email info@globalprostheticsandorthotics.org or write to us at our clinic in Jos. This policy is written with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 in mind. It is not a substitute for legal advice.

Information we collect

Enquiries. If you use the contact form, we ask for your name, email, optional phone number, what you need (for example an amputation level), and your message. Use those fields only for genuine fitting, sponsorship or supply requests. Do not send extra medical records or identity documents through the website unless we ask you to.

Staff accounts. Admin users have a name, email, role, and optional profile photo. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider (Supabase). Profile photos are stored with our image host (Cloudinary).

Website use. If you accept analytics cookies, we use PostHog to record page visits, button clicks (such as Get support or Contact us), gallery photo opens, and that a contact form was submitted. We do not send the contents of the enquiry form to PostHog.

Security. The contact form and admin login / password-reset forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to reduce automated abuse. That check runs in your browser and is not used for marketing.

How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • respond to fitting, sponsorship, outreach and component-supply enquiries
  • run the staff content studio that edits this website
  • understand, with your consent, how people use the public site so we can improve it
  • keep the site and staff area reasonably secure

We do not sell personal information or use enquiry details for unrelated advertising.

Cookies

Necessary. Signing in to the staff area needs a session cookie. Your light or dark theme preference is stored on your device. These are required for those features to work.

Analytics (optional). PostHog cookies are set only if you choose Accept analytics. If you decline, you can still use the site. We may keep a privacy-preserving visit count that does not use tracking cookies. You can change your choice any time via Cookie settings in the footer.

Who we share information with

We use trusted processors to run the site: Supabase (authentication and content storage), Cloudinary (images), Resend (sending contact enquiries and the automatic acknowledgement to you), PostHog (analytics, if you consent), Cloudflare (bot protection on the contact form and staff forms), and our hosting provider. They process data on our instructions.

If a church, mosque, ministry, company or government partner is sponsoring a fitting, we may share the minimum details needed to arrange that care, with your knowledge.

We may disclose information if Nigerian law requires it.

How long we keep it

Enquiry messages are kept only as long as needed to reply and, where relevant, to arrange an assessment or sponsored fitting. Staff accounts last until that person is removed. Analytics data follows PostHog’s retention settings for our project.

Your choices

You can ask us to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, or to stop using it for a particular purpose, by emailing info@globalprostheticsandorthotics.org. You can decline or withdraw analytics consent without affecting a clinical enquiry.

Children

A parent, guardian or referring organisation may contact us about a child who needs a fitting. Please do not submit more personal detail about a minor than is needed to start that conversation.

Changes

We may update this policy when the site or our practices change. The date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of the site after an update means you have had a chance to read the new version.
